Our Gloucester Moving Services
Maybe it’s a split-level in Blackburn Hamlet you’ve finally outgrown, a brand-new townhome in Findlay Creek, or a condo near Blair Station that puts the LRT at your doorstep. There’s a lot to consider, let us help you shoulder the load.

The Cassidy’s Process: How It Works
- Get a Quote. Tell us what’s moving and when. We’ll ask about access at both addresses, including new-build possession timing, stairs, and any elevator or loading dock booking, then send a written quote.
- We Pack & Load. We cover floors and door frames, wrap furniture in blankets, and pack everyday essentials last so they’re the first things out.
- Welcome Home. Boxes land in the rooms they’re marked for, furniture goes where you want it, and beds and tables are reassembled before the crew heads out.
“Having moved 6 times in 12 years, we’ve had plenty of recent experience with moving companies. Cassidy’s outdid every other mover.”

FAQs
Yes. Findlay Creek, Riverside South, Leitrim and the other growing neighbourhoods in south Gloucester are all part of our Ottawa service area. Because so many homes there are new builds, we’ll check your possession date and street access when we quote, and keep in touch if either one changes.
Yes. Gloucester is part of the City of Ottawa, and anything within 100 miles (161 km) counts as local for us. That means hourly billing, not the weight-and-distance pricing used for long-distance moves. Your quote spells out the rest.
Yes. Apartment and condo moves are a regular part of our Ottawa work, including the towers around Blair Station and Ogilvie Road. Book the service elevator with your property manager as early as you can, and let us know the time window and any loading dock rules when we quote.

The Local Advantage: Why Experience Matters
Gloucester covers a lot of ground, from mature streets near the Ottawa River to subdivisions south of the airport that are still being built. A move at one end has very little in common with a move at the other.
Here’s what we look after ahead of time:
At the time of publishing, much of Findlay Creek and Riverside South is still under construction. This means that moving day can have builders’ trucks on the street, an unpaved driveway, or a possession date that shifts at the last minute. We ask about all of it when we quote, plan where the truck can safely sit, and adjust with you if the builder’s schedule changes.
The drive depends on which part of Gloucester you mean. Near Beacon Hill and Blackburn Hamlet, Highway 174 and Blair Road can get congested quickly in the afternoon. Heading south toward Riverside South, the Hunt Club and Bank Street corner is the usual slowdown. Our dispatchers time the truck around both, so your belongings aren’t idling in the middle of rush hour.
On most Ottawa streets, parking is limited to 3 hours on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., even where no sign says so. If loading will take longer, the City handles curbside use through its temporary encroachment permit process, and we’ll tell you whether your street will likely need one. From November 15 to April 1, the City can also call a winter weather parking ban when the forecast calls for freezing rain or 7 centimetres of snow, so we watch the forecast as your date approaches.
Cobden is the largest community on Muskrat Lake, with more than 300 waterfront properties around it. A long treed lane, a steep pitch toward the water, or a cottage the truck can’t reach directly will change the plan, so please send us photos during your initial consultation.
Set Up Your Utilities in Gloucester
Here are a few accounts to set up before the big day:
- Electricity (Hydro Ottawa): Most Gloucester addresses are on Hydro Ottawa. Use their moving service page to start service at the new home and close it at the old one.
- Natural Gas (Enbridge): New to the address? Open your Enbridge account ahead of possession so the heat is on when you arrive.
- Water & Sewer (City of Ottawa): Water is billed by the City. Notify Revenue Services of the change of ownership, and a final meter reading is taken on your closing date.
- Garbage & Recycling: Search your new address in the City’s collection calendar to learn your pickup day, or add it to your phone’s calendar.
