Every Year about this time, the Christmas spirit creeps into everyone’s heart. The team at Cassidy’s loves to get into the swing of things and give back to the community and have some fun while we’re at it.
Santa Claus Parade
On November 26, the city of Pembroke held its annual Santa Claus Parade of Lights. While the focus is on fun, the parade collects hundreds of boxes of non-perishable food and toys for needy families in the area.
This year saw two entries by Cassidy’s: our 1936 International Truck and also a tractor/trailer decorated in to match this year’s Charlie Brown Christmas theme.

Food Bank Benefit Raises $370.50
A 50/50 draw was held to raise money for the Pembroke Food Bank.
In the image at the top of the page, pictured from the left is Sharron Donohue, one of the 50/50 winners (the other one was Terry Hampel); Tom McCann from the Food Bank; and Linda Nagora, organizer. The event raised $370.50 for the Food Bank.
As you may know, donating food directly can help, but what really helps Food Banks is donating money. Thanks to deals with local grocery stores, Food Bank staffers can often stretch $1 into $5. Meanwhile, donating heavy cans take time to collect, move and sort. You can learn more about how to give with more impact here.
What Can YOU Do?
As you can see, it doesn’t take a lot of work to make a big difference in another person’s life.
If you haven’t made a practice of giving back, we encourage you to do so. You may be surprised at how much you’ll feel good when you’re doing good.
