Our Greely Moving Services
It might be a bungalow on a two-acre lot off Stagecoach Road, a newer build close to the shops on Parkway Road, or maybe you’re trading a Centretown condo for a garage, a lawn and room to breathe. There’s a lot to consider, let us help you shoulder the load.

The Cassidy’s Process: How It Works
- Get a Quote. Tell us your timing, what’s moving and what both properties look like: driveway length, where the septic bed is, and anything oversized in the garage or shed. You’ll get the quote in writing.
- We Pack & Load. We pad and wrap the furniture, cover floors and door frames, and load so the essentials come off first.
- Welcome Home. Boxes land in the rooms marked on them, furniture goes where you want it, and we reassemble beds and tables before we go.
“Having moved 6 times in 12 years, we’ve had plenty of recent experience with moving companies. Cassidy’s outdid every other mover.”

FAQs
Yes. We ask about your septic bed and well when we quote, keep the truck clear of them on the day, and park on the driveway or a firm, dry spot you’re happy with.
Yes. Greely is roughly 25 kilometres from downtown, well inside our 100-mile (161 km) local radius. This means hourly billing, not the weight-and-distance pricing used for long-distance moves. The details will be in your quote.
Usually, yes. List them when you ask for a quote, with weights or model numbers if you have them, and we’ll plan the crew and gear around them. If something needs a specialist, we’ll say so up front.

The Local Advantage: Why Experience Matters
Greely is part of the City of Ottawa, but moving day here looks very different from one downtown. Homes sit on big private lots with their own wells and septic beds, the trucks park in your driveway instead of on the street, and Bank Street is the main route in.
Here’s what we work out before the truck leaves the yard:
Most Greely homes draw from their own well and drain to their own septic bed, and a loaded moving truck weighs far more than a family car. Tell us before moving day where the septic tank and bed sit, and we’ll make sure the truck stays clear. If you’ve never looked after a rural system, the City’s guide to wells and septic systems is a good place to start.
Greely follows the City’s winter rules. Between November 15 and April 1, the City can call a Winter Weather Parking Ban for freezing rain or a forecast of 7 cm of snow or more, clearing streets from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The truck normally sits in your driveway, but we keep the road clear for plows and watch the forecast as your date nears.
Bank Street carries most of the traffic between Greely and the rest of Ottawa, and it backs up southbound on weekday afternoons, especially near Mitch Owens Road. We plan the drive so your belongings aren’t sitting in the rush.
Set Up Your Utilities in Greely
It’s worth checking off a few things before any keys change hands:
- Electricity (Hydro One or Hydro Ottawa): Most of Greely is on the Hydro One grid; set up your move with Hydro One if that’s you. Some homes near the Mitch Owens Road boundary are on Hydro Ottawa instead, where you can arrange service online.
- Natural Gas (Enbridge): Plenty of Greely streets have natural gas, while other rural lots heat with propane, oil or electricity. Check your address and open a new account if gas is available.
- Garbage & Recycling: Pickup days vary across rural Ottawa. Enter your new address to find your collection calendar and set a reminder.
- Water & Septic: There’s no municipal water bill for most Greely homes. Arrange a well water test and plan your first septic pump-out soon after you move in.
