Here at Cassidy’s we don’t always talk about what we do in the community. I guess good work just seems like something that naturally happens with us, just like breathing. But we think it’s time we pay more attention to some of our team members who have been putting in extra effort to help those who are in need.
Here are two recent efforts that our team has been making.
28th Annual 2 Service Battalion Truckers’ Toy Drive
Every Year, many families go without food or toys at Christmas. For almost 30 years, the truckers of CFB Petawawa have been organizing a toy drive to help.
Free Ultimate Moving Checklist
Say goodbye to moving stress with our 2023 residential moving checklist for Canada—it’s the ultimate time-saver!
Download NowOne of our truck drivers has made an exceptional contribution to this cause this year. Steve MacDonald donated dozens of stuffed toys to the Drive, delivering them in several large bags. These are new toys, collected by Steve because of his hobby.
You see, Steve is a claw machine addict. The claw machine is a game that can be found all over North America. You pay a few quarters, and use a joystick to control a crane with a claw on the end. The goal is to grab a toy from a collection in a sealed container and move it over to the chute where you can claim it. It’s actually very difficult to do, and it turns out Steve’s a whiz!
Here you can see Steve MacDonald on the left, and Larry Delaurier, owner of OK Tire and Auto on the right, accepting the toys on behalf of the Drive.
Food Bank Pot Luck Benefit
On December 11 Cassidy’s raised $622.00 and collected over 200 food item donations for the St. Joseph’s food bank. Our pot luck meal also gave us a chance to take a break from our hectic schedules to reconnect with each other. It’s always nice to remember what great people we work with.

Helping out in the community is a great way have a lot of fun. We encourage everyone to do what they can, especially at this time of the year. You can read more about some of our ongoing efforts on our community page.
