Cassidy’s Moving & Storage is one of the largest transportation companies operating in Ottawa and the surrounding area.
Ottawa is a place to grow families and develop lives. We’ve seen many come and go, but we’ve also seen generations grow within Ottawa’s borders.
Kind of like us. We have a long history in Ottawa and we are proud to call it home.
Our History: Bytown and Beyond
We’ve been operating in the Ottawa Valley for a very, very long time. In fact, we’ve been here for over a century. In 1908, our moving company began as a drayage service, moving baggage from the local train station to homes.
Over the next century, we grew. And as we grew, so did Ottawa. In 1921, Ottawa’s population first crossed the six figure mark. Now its population sits at very nearly one million people.

Our Moving Services
We expanded our services to meet the growing demands of Ottawa’s growing population. From moving baggage to moving families, we evolved to give the people of Ottawa what they wanted.
We offer affordable moving over short distances within the Ottawa Valley. Whether you’re moving to Kanata, Orleans, Nepean, or Gloucester, we will get you there safe and sound.
We know the area well. We have our largest location in the west end of Ottawa, so wherever you’re going, we’ll be close by. And best of all, we offer free consultations and estimates for all moves. Once we’ve visited your home and provided you with an official price quote in writing, we guarantee our final bill will be within 10% of that amount.
Long Distance Moving
If you’re moving longer distances, we are here for you. We’ve partnered with United Van Lines to give you access to the largest network of moving companies in Canada. We also can move you internationally, to the US or even overseas.
If you’re planning on completing the move yourself, we can still help. We can provide all the boxes and packing material you’ll need for your move. For secure, convenient DIY moves, we can provide storage containers.
Why We Love Living in Ottawa
There’s a reason we call Ottawa home: we simply love the city. From the beauty of the Parkway to the history and authority of the Parliament Buildings, there is something very special about this town. Let us take you on a tour of Ottawa to show you why we love living here.
This is truly a beautiful city. In summer or winter, there is plenty to do and see. And all of it is made accessible, to young and old alike, through the advent of OC Transpo, Ottawa’s public transportation service.
Ottawa is known for its green space. Ottawa’s Greenbelt, a ring of preserved nature around the city, provides excellent hiking trails in the summer and cross country ski trails in the winter. Check out Mer Bleue Bog, one of the most studied bogs in the world, and walk along the raised wooden pathways for some excellent views.
Speaking of excellent views, Gatineau Park is only a ten-minute drive from Ottawa, and features scenic lookouts like Champlain Lookout, which offers an incredible view of the Gatineau Hills. Go when the leaves turn in the autumn to witness some breathtaking colours.
Museums, Museums and More Museums
Families with children of all ages have no trouble finding things to do in Ottawa. There are numerous local museums to choose from, and each has so much to offer that it’s hard to imagine getting bored.
A good example is the Canadian Museum of Nature where you’ll find such attractions as a complete blue whale skeleton as well as a children’s area where kids can learn about wildlife through play. Plus, their exhibits are always changing, so there’s usually something new to check out.
Or you can hop across the Quebec border to Gatineau where you’ll find the Canadian Museum of History. While there’s plenty here for parents, this museum is also home to the Canadian Children’s Museum, where kids of all ages can learn about world travel, solve puzzles, and even catch the occasional puppet show.
Best of all, many Ottawa museums are free on Thursdays after 5pm.
Fabulous Outdoor Festivals
Ottawa is home to numerous festivals, which appeal to children and parents alike.
The year starts with the world-famous Winterlude Festival. During Winterlude, Ottawa’s downtown core is adorned with ice sculptures carved by some of the best in the world.
In the summer, the city becomes a festival-lover’s paradise as concerts and events abound. In May, the Ottawa Children’s Festival offers much in the way of children’s entertainment, with circus acts, musical performances, and plenty to do and see.
Let Us Be Your Ottawa Mover
We know and love this city. We’ve been here for over 100 years, and we’re still discovering new things about Ottawa.
And we want you to love it too. That’s why we treat all our clients like the neighbours they are. We look forward to meeting you!
