Our people are the reason we have been successful for over 100 years. Cassidy’s knows that looking after the shipping needs of families and businesses to the level we demand and our customers’ expect means we have to attract and retain the highest quality people. Thirty administration and management personnel and up 180 operations workers operate out of twenty acres and 80,000 Sq.ft. of climatized storage. Some of these employees are the second and third generation of their family that has worked for Cassidy’s. All of the senior managers have been with the company for more than twenty years.
Cassidy’s knows that to be the best, our people must be highly trained. Cassidy’s does wide-ranging training of employees using qualified in-house trainers and third party trainers. Regular courses include logs, hazardous materials, forklift safety, cargo securement and moving skills. Cassidy’s regularly brings in outside experts to talk to employees about safety and other shipping topics including officials from the Ministry of Transportation, Health Canada, Canada Border Services Agency and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission. Cassidy’s sometimes hosts training for other local businesses as well. Cassidy’s does specialized transportation and also does training for nuclear safety, explosives and ammunition.
